About Us!

Sew Chic Fabrics and Crafts was founded by Donna W. in 2014. Prior to ever creating a business she did small sewing and repair jobs for classmates and co-workers at college.  Having moved the business to Baltimore City from the town of Mount Rainier, Maryland; Donna is a seamstress, instuctor, and life-long maker.

Sew Chic was created to help people learn to sew, create, and feel confident in their handmade projects.  After many years of teaching sewing, building a maker community, and helping students of all levels, Sew Chic continues its mission of selling online a variety of fabrics, classes, workshops, craft kits, handmade goods, and creative resources for makers who want and need more than just supplies -- they want encouragement, skill, and a life long community.

Donna has build a following within the "Made in Baltimore" community, Baltimore Parks and Recs, various Pop-Ups in the Baltimore as well as PG County.  She also served as a member and board member of the American Sewing Guild, and the Association of Sewing and Design Professional.
