Workshop and Class Participation Policy

You may register for a Class or Workshop via our website, in person, email or by calling the studio at 240-206-0629.

Each class or workshop is limited to no more than four (4) to six (6) participants per class or workshop, as that is all the space currently allowed to fit comfortably
in the studio and we have individual machines for. This also ensures each attendee will receive plenty of hands-on instruction, as well as giving the participants the chance to get to know one another.
Due to the limited number of available spaces, registration for classes and workshops are non-refundable. Please check your schedule carefully before registering. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class or workshop and in the rare event that we need to cancel a class or workshop for which you are registered, you will receive a credit of the fees paid applied to future class or make-up classes. If you are not able to attend a session, please notify us via email or phone at least 48 hours prior to the start of any class or workshop. 24 to 48 prior to your class you will receive an email or text reminding you of your class time. If you fail to let us know prior to the start of your session; that session is forfeited.
If you made payment using PayPal and the e-mail address you used to register via PayPal is different from the e-mail you use for everyday correspondence, please contact us so we can make a note of your preferred e-mail address. All classes and workshops are for students aged 10 and over, unless specified otherwise.

Please no food or drink (aside from water in covered containers) in the workspace.  Covered water-bottles are highly encouraged. If there is a class or workshop over four (4) hours, you may bring a light snack or sandwich and something to drink. We do not have refrigerator space available for students unless there are certain medication(s) that need refrigeration.
All Classes / Workshops are held in our light-filled, fully equipped, delightful conference space located in Mount Rainier, Maryland.

Sewing involves the use of a sewing machine, use of an iron, hand sewing needles, straight pins, scissors, and rotary cutters. By your participation in any class, workshop, lesson, or workspace usage, you agree to release and hold harmless Sew Chic Fabrics and Crafts, its instructors, and employees from any and all claims and liability related to any accident that may arise as a result. Instruction in the proper use of equipment is always provided.

All sewing machines and essential tools are provided for use in the workspace; you need only to bring yourself and a closed water bottle. We have the supplies available to purchase in the store on the first day of class.  There are no supplies included in class (unless otherwise noted), we have a wide selection of fabrics and notions available for a nominal fee. The cost is expected at the end of the first session.  We have use Bernina basic sewing machines for class. You may bring your own machine but we cannot provide instructions on your personal machine or address any problems with it. The student should be fully aware of how to use the machine, thread their machine, and address any problems that may arise with it.

Lastly, since we do have all the supplies and tools for purchase in the store, payment is required ON THE FIRST DAY OF class. We accept all electronic forms of payment and we are a contactless facility.
