Thursday Evening
This beginner sewing class is an entry level class. Students can learn to sew any of the following projects a pin cushion, a mask, a pillow, a tote bag, a cosmetic case, pull-on shorts, or pull-on pajama bottoms – one project a session / week.
Studio provides the sewing machine, basic ruler / tape measure, straight pins, other notions, and scissors.
In this class we will learn any of the following items:
- How to thread our machines properly - troubleshoot simple issues
- Learn how to thread a bobbin
- Measure and cut from measurements (self-simple pattern)
- Read a pattern and cut from the pattern
- Take one’s measurements and someone else’s measurements
- Create a project from measurements
- Thread elastic
- Square a corner and create a lining
- Basic hand sewing techniques
While we do provide some basic supplies; there are basic sewing supplies recommended for sewing and use in any class (and because of Covid-19 we recommend your own supplies to use).
We also have supplies available for purchase at the studio and are paid on the first day of class:

Materials are available for purchase in the class for a nominal fee.
Class Material Fee is paid at the first session of class.
