Intermediate / Advanced - Saturday Evening
This an intermediate sewing class pre-requisite is beginner sewing class.
Studio provides the sewing machine, basic ruler / tape measure, straight pins, other notions, and scissors.
In this class you may learn any of the following techniques:
- Measure and cut from measurements (self created simple pattern)
- Read a sewing pattern and cut from the pattern
- Take one’s measurements and someone else’s measurements
- Create a project from measurements
- Thread elastic through a casing
- Hem pants by hand and by machine
- Square a corner and create a lining
- Practice straight stitches and curves
- Basic hand sewing techniques
While we do provide some basic supplies and there are basic sewing supplies needed for sewing and in any class (and because of Covid we recommend your own supplies to use). We have all of these supplies available for purchase at the shop.
We also have a basic sewing kit available for purchase at the studio:
- Seam Gauge and tape measure
- Marking Chalk / pencil
- Fray check
- Straight pins and Hand sewing needles
- Bodkin or extremely large safety pin
- Sharp Fabric scissors
- Snipping Scissors
- A seam ripper
