Beginner Sewing Class Saturday Midday

This beginner sewing class is an entry level class. Students can learn to make any of the following items: a pillow, tote bag, cosmetic case, pull-on shorts, or pull on pajama bottoms – one project a week.

Studio provides the sewing machine, basic ruler / tape measure, straight pins, other notions, and scissors.

In this class you may learn any of the following techniques:

  • Measure and cut from measurements (self created simple pattern)
  • Read a sewing pattern and cut from the pattern
  • Take one’s measurements and someone else’s measurements
  • Create a project from measurements
  • Thread elastic
  • Hem pants by hand and by machine
  • Square a corner and create a lining
  • Practice straight stitches and curves
  • Basic hand sewing techniques

While we do provide some basic supplies and there are basic sewing supplies needed for sewing and in any class (and because of Covid-19 we recommend your own supplies to use).

We also have a basic sewing kit available for purchase at the studio:

Skill Details: No knowledge to basic knowledge of sewing Needles and Fabric
Materials Included: Bernina Basic Sewing Machine for use in class, rulers, thread, and other notions
Requirements: We will have kits to purchase in class via credit card You can purchase the materials needed in the store at the time of the class.
